Message received from Transports Quebec: On January 1, 2009 Québec's new legislation regarding mandatory speed limiters for heavy trucks (maximum speed of 105 km/h, that is, 65 m/h) came into force. Information on this subject is available in English on the website of the Ministère des Transports du Québec (MTQ) : http://www.mtq.gouv.qc.ca/portal/page/portal/entreprises_en/ camionnage/limiteurs_vitesse Official correspondence from our authorities has already been sent out to fully inform the DOTs and trucking associations concerned. - Effective July 1, 2010: An accident that causes $3,000 or more in property damage must be reported to the DMV. This change is due to legislation that raised the minimum property damage of an accident from $1,000 to $3,000.
- Effective July 1, 2010: Change to Online Renewal - The receipt printed from an Internet renewal for a motor vehicle will now serve as a 10-day temporary registration. This new 10-day temporary registration may be used for vehicle inspection.
- Effective July 1, 2010: Red and blue light permits will now to be transferable, for 30 days, when license plates are transferred to another vehicle. An new application must be submitted to the DMV within the 30 day transfer period so a new light permit can be issued.
- Effective Monday, February 1, 2010 the Bennington Branch Office location is: 120 Depot Street, Bennington, VT
