Vehicle Inspections

All motor vehicles registered in this state shall be inspected once each year at state approved inspection stations.


Motor vehicles are the largest source of toxic and ozone-forming air pollutants in Vermont. OBD systems for vehicles 1996 and newer are checked annually as part of the vehicle inspection.

Vehicle Inspections

Vermont motorist's safety is a top priority. All registered vehicles, motorcycles & trailers are required to pass an annual inspection to ensure compliance with safety standards. Inspections are performed at Official Vehicle Inspection Stations licensed by DMV.
