*** Consider this a re-issuance of Bulletin 20-1. ***
Friday, March 13, 2020, Governor Scott issued an Emergency Declaration regarding the coronavirus outbreak. On Monday, March 16, 2020, the Governor announced the State of Vermont will be extending expiration dates for Vermont licenses and Vermont registrations for 90 days due to the outbreak. Therefore, any registration expiring March 31, 2020, will be valid for an additional 90 days.
Until further notice, the “valid registration” requirement to pass a Vermont Safety Inspection is lifted for a 90-day period beyond the registration expiration date. Photographs and VIN validation requirements still apply. Any vehicle whose registration has expired for longer than 90 days from the effective date, shall not pass a Vermont Safety Inspection. All other requirements to pass a Vermont Safety Inspection still apply.
