Law Enforcement Bulletin #17-05

02 November 2017

Please be advised the Department of Motor Vehicles will be implementing a new Point of Sale (POS) finance system. The new system will not utilize an audit line for temporary registration documents that officers have traditionally seen when reviewing a vehicle registration.

Attached are temporary registration documents (8½" X 11") showing the old format with the audit line (Exhibit A) as well the new temporary registration format (Exhibit B) that will be used to validate OMV registration transactions. The current permanent registration certificate (3½" X 5½") will remain unchanged (Exhibit C) at this time.

These changes will be implemented at the various OMV branch offices in stages beginning Monday, November 6 with the Rutland branch office. All offices will be utilizing the new POS system by Thursday November 9, 2017.

OMV is requesting this information be forward to all personnel who may come in contact with Vermont vehicle registrations during the performance of their duties.

If you have any questions, please contact our information line at 802-828-2000 or using our contact forms.
