SUMMARY: On 11/21/22 at approximately 11:15 AM, Inspector Tingle responded to a single-vehicle crash on US Route 4 in West Rutland. A tractor-trailer had jackknifed and struck the guard rails. There was no injury, and no other vehicles were involved.
Investigation showed that the tractor-trailer, operated by Nolin Turcotte, 65, of Queensbury, NY, was traveling west on US Route 4. The driver started sneezing, which caused him to lose control of the vehicle. The vehicle jackknifed and struck the guard rails resulting in damage to both the tractor and guard rails. The vehicle was removed by a heavy wrecker. The driver was issued a civil violation for a violation of Title 23 VSA 1038, Driving on roadways laned for traffic.
