SUMMARY: On 06/16/2023 at approximately 04:09 hours, VSP dispatch received a call in regards to a single commercial motor vehicle rollover crash. Responding agencies arrived and found the operator, Kevin Travers, dob 07/03/1983, to be trapt within the cab of the truck. Travers was transported to the hospital to be evaluated for suspected or possible injuries. Vermont Department of Motor Vehicle CVE Inspectors are investigating the crash as well as conducting a post-crash inspection of the CMV. The tractor-trailer combination was loaded with wood chips at the time of the crash; the Interstate travel lanes were reduced for several hours as crews worked to clean up the debris. The investigation is ongoing, but Inspectors believe that the cause of the crash was due to Travers falling asleep, leaving the roadway, which caused the CMV to overturn.
