SUMMARY: On 12/17/22, at about 1150 hours, VT DMV Enforcement responded to the report of a CMV crash on VT RTE 108 in Berkshire.  Operator Mark Weld, age 60, of Richford VT was operating a 2016 Freightliner truck tractor hauling an empty trailer northbound on VT Route 108 when the trailer left the roadway.  Weld slowed to a stop but the trailer pulled both vehicles down an embankment causing them to overturn.  The driver was wearing a seat belt and uninjured.  No other vehicles were involved in the crash.  The crash was likely caused by winter road conditions and VT RTE 108 was closed for about 3 hours during recovery efforts.  No tickets were issued.
