23 V.S.A. § 3307a An owner of a motorboat that has been registered in another state under a federally approved numbering system, or that has a valid document issued by the U.S. Coast Guard, U.S. Customs and Border Protection, or any other federal agency, and that is used in the waters of the State for at least 60 days in any calendar year shall apply annually to the Commissioner of Motor Vehicles for validation of the out-of-state or federal registration of that motorboat.
NOTE: Vessel validations expire annually at midnight on the last day of December. In addition to the documents listed below, your registration application must be accompanied by the following:
- A copy of a current (valid) out-of-state registration, or
- A current/valid document issued by the U.S. Coast Guard or the U.S. Bureau of Customs.
