SUBJECT: Commercial Motor Vehicle Crash

DATE / TIME OF INCIDENT:   7/17/24 1:07 p.m.

INCIDENT NUMBER:  24MV007791

TYPE OF EVENT(S):  Commercial Motor Vehicle Crash

LOCATION OF EVENT(S):  West Shore Road, Salisbury

INVESTIGATING INSPECTOR(S):  Timothy Hanley

SUMMARY:  A tractor trailer driver drove off the north side of West Shore Road in Salisbury. The tractor trailer is completely off the road and is currently being recovered. The driver, Llewelyn Richard, 58, of Malta, NY, was transported to the hospital as a precaution but appeared to be uninjured.

The driver was operating a 2012 Freightliner truck tractor and towing a 2017 Great Dane trailer. There was a partial load of food in the trailer.

Vermont DMV Police, Salisbury Fire Department, Middlebury Fire Department, Middlebury Rescue, and Earle’s Truck Repair assisted at the crash scene.

ROAD CLOSURE(S): West Shore Road east of Rogers Road and west of Route 53
