LOCATION OF EVENT(S): Vermont Route 12 at Shady Hill Road, Middlesex

SUMMARY: On 09/17/24, DMV Enforcement and Safety responded to the report of a single vehicle crash with no reported injuries on Vermont Route 12 in Middlesex. The crash involved a 2000 Western Star dump truck operated by Mark Maskell, Sr., 60, of Highgate Springs, VT. Maskell stated that he was traveling south on VT 12 and had drifted off the roadway, causing the truck to overturn. The truck is owned by Jeff’s Transport of Montgomery, VT. Vaillancourt Repairs of Enosburg Falls responded to the crash scene to assist with the removal of the vehicle. VT 12 was reduced to one lane for several hours. DMV Inspectors also conducted a post-crash inspection of the vehicle. This case is still under investigation.
