SUMMARY:
On 2/24/25, Department of Motor Vehicles Inspector Hailey responded to a crash involving two commercial motor vehicles. A 2020 Freightliner oil truck operated by Brian Jones, 32, of Newport Center and owned by Oil Supply Corp Inc. was turning left out of Curtis Britch Funeral Home onto Vermont Route 114 when it was struck by a 2005 Peterbilt truck tractor hauling a 2022 Manac open top chip trailer driven by Tucker Hubbard-Sizen, 27, of Burke and owned by Russell Riendeau & Sons Trucking. Both trucks sustained very minor damage because the tractor trailer operator saw the oil truck pulling out of the driveway and started to brake.
The Town of Brighton was called to the scene to remove snow from the travel portion of the road. No injuries were reported. There were no other assisting agencies. Both vehicles drove away from the scene. A post-crash inspection was completed on both vehicles.
