SUBJECT: Commercial Motor Vehicle Crash
DATE/TIME OF INCIDENT: 01/9/2025 at approximately 7:17 a.m.
INCIDENT NUMBER: 25MV000345
TYPE OF EVENT(S): Three-vehicle crash involving a Commercial Vehicle
LOCATION OF EVENT(S): Interstate 91 North, Weathersfield
INVESTIGATING INSPECTOR(S): Verdall Cole and Sean Hammond
SUMMARY: On 01/09/2025, at approximately 7:17 a.m., DMV Inspectors responded to a triple motor vehicle crash involving a 2014 Western Star Dump Truck with a trailer attached hauling an excavator and operated by Marshall Mcguirk, 58, of Walpole, NH; a 2023 GMC Sierra operated by Jason Steele, 45, of Springfield. VT; and a 2015 Subaru Forester operated by Samantha Loch, 41, of Walpole, NH. The crash occurred on I-91 North near milemarker 52.5 in Weathersfield. There were no serious injuries. Weathersfield Fire Department and Vermont State Police assisted DMV with this crash. As a result of the crash investigation, Mcquirk was arrested for suspicion of DUI. Reed’s Towing recovered the commercial vehicle. I-91 North was closed or reduced to a single lane for approximately eight hours.
