SUBJECT: Commercial Vehicle Crash-Property Damage           

DATE/TIME OF INCIDENT: 1/28/254 at 1:52 p.m.

INCIDENT NUMBER: 25MV001158

TYPE OF EVENT(S): Commercial Vehicle Crash

LOCATION OF EVENT(S): Vermont Route 104 at Allen Irish Rd, Town of Fairfax

INVESTIGATING INSPECTOR(S): S. Boutin, M. Nesto   

SUMMARY: On 1/28/25 at approximately 1:52 p.m., Vermont State Police and Vermont DMV Inspectors learned that a crash had occurred on VT 104 in Fairfax involving a passenger car and tractor trailer unit, and both agencies responded. The passenger car was crossing VT 104 slowly and passed directly in front of a tractor trailer traveling east on VT 104. No injuries occurred due to the crash. The tractor trailer sustained disabling damage when the operator swerved to avoid a more serious collision and went off the roadway.

The motor carrier operating the commercial motor vehicle was identified as Pete & Gerry Organics LLC, from Littleton, NH. The driver of the commercial motor vehicle was identified as John Deschesne, 63, of Littleton, NH. The driver of the passenger car was identified as Martha Jentis, 79, of El Paso, TX.

Responding agencies were DMV Commercial Vehicle Enforcement, Vermont State Police, and Fairfax Fire Department.
