Town Clerks

Participating Vermont Town Clerks can renew select motor vehicle registrations.

Some restrictions apply:

1. Only changes to the address are allowed.
2. Only preprinted renewal forms will be accepted.
3. Only renewals with the current month or up to two previous month's expirations will be accepted.
4. Renewals will be processed only during regular Town Clerk Office hours.
5. The following types of transactions will not be processed:
   • Truck (54,999 lbs. or more)
   • Oversize/Overweight Permits
   • Driver License transactions
   • International Fuel Tax Agreement (IFTA)
   • IRP (Apportioned) Registrations

Fees

A processing fee (cash accepted) is paid directly to the Town Clerks for each renewal and is a separate fee from the renewal fee.

Payment

Checks and money orders for the correct amount only - cash will not be accepted for renewal fees.
