Can I renew my license early?
A license can be renewed six (6) months before the expiration date.

I lost my renewal PIN, can DMV provide it for me?
No. DMV staff do not have access to your renewal letter PIN.
My license /ID number has the letter A at the end. Does the A need to be capitalized when applying online?
Yes. When entering the license/ID number online you must enter a capital A.
I am no longer required to wear eyeglasses to drive. Can I remove this restriction from my license online?
No. Endorsements and restrictions cannot be removed or changed online.
I entered all of the correct identifying information but the system will not log me in. Why?
It is possible the DMV has conflicting identifying information in your record. Please contact us for assistance.
Can I upgrade from REAL ID to an EDL online?
No. You must visit a permanent DMV office with all of the required
documents to upgrade to an EDL.

There are no expedited services available.

You will not receive a tracking number. The status of your online license/ID request can be found in the VT Online Portal after logging in with the required information.
Is there an additional fee if I apply online?
No. The same fees apply if you were to apply in person or through the mail.
I hold an RDL can I apply online?
Yes as long as you meet all other online requirements.
Is the receipt valid for driving or identification purposes?
No. The receipt is only to show payment confirmation.
Will I receive a temporary license if I apply online?
No. You will receive a printable confirmation receipt.
How long before I receive my license/ID if I apply online?
7-10 Business days.
