To cancel a registration, please provide ALL of the following materials:

Return the registration certificate with the "transfer of ownership" section completed
- Include a letter explaining why you want to cancel the registration.
You may be eligible for a full or partial refund of the registration fee.
To be considered for a refund of registration, you must return your registration certificate to the DMV. Without this certificate, you may return your plate(s) and request a refund.
